The LINK Study Unit promotes university level courses for UNDERGRADUATE and GRADUATE students. The Department of Religious Studies at Stirling University offers a variety of courses at both levels. You can apply for them through the Study Unit.

The Study Unit also has material for those who do not enrol on a course. This is aimed primarily at those who are interested in research. The first hurdle which a graduate faces in trying to gain admission to a postgraduate university course is the lack of an acceptable topic. The Study Unit’s ‘bridge’ courses are designed to help applicants to piece together an interesting research project.

GRADUATES can apply to Stirling University’s Department of religious Studies through the Study Unit for admission to the department’s postgraduate courses.

Students within travelling distance of Stirling can arrange interviews and attend tutorials. Those living farther afield are supported by a range of methods, depending on distance and circumstances. Each enrolled student is given a set of studies. Contact by post (even overseas) is still adequate for most research work. Telephone contact can be a good way of dealing with specific study problems. E-mail is becoming a popular medium for the exchange of academic material. Audio tapes and CD software (where access to a computer is possible) are being used to communicate large amounts of information. Great distances are no longer an insurmountable barrier to degree and graduate level studies. With the study unit you can begin courses in theology/philosophy at fees considerably below those being charged at U.K. universities.

The study unit is based in Stirling, central Scotland, which has a good university close by with good facilities. This is a most attractive part of Scotland, rich in history and popular with students and tourists.
